The Zero-Blur Offset Shadow

Caption

Not a shadow — a second solid shape offset behind the first.

Historical Impact

With the blur radius set to zero, a box-shadow stops simulating light and becomes a duplicate silhouette. It survives screenshots, low-quality displays and printing intact, which is part of why the style reproduces so reliably across contexts.
