PixelSurgeon — Design Community Showcase
Caption
Community gallery chrome built from hard edges, sprites and indexed colour.
Historical Impact
PixelSurgeon gathered experimental web work behind a deliberately lo-fi interface: hard-edged frames, small GIF ornaments and palette-limited type. It documents how early-2000s design communities used pixel craft as both subject and shell — the gallery looked like the work it praised.
