Habbo Hotel — Isometric Pixel Social World
Caption
A commercial virtual world built entirely from tiled rooms and avatar sprites.
Historical Impact
Habbo Hotel launched as an isometric, entirely pixel-drawn social space reachable from a browser. Furniture, avatars and chat chrome were authored as small sprites — proof that hand-placed pixel craft could scale into a large live product rather than stay a hobby page aesthetic.
