Windows Media Player (Classic)
Caption
Classic gray-beveled media player interface featuring early digital media playback controls and the iconic 90s Windows logo, essential for early embedded web audio and video streams.
Historical Impact
Windows Media Player 4–6 (1995–2000) shipped with every Windows 95 and 98 install — gray beveled transport buttons, playlist panes, and the four-color Windows logo badge. It became the default engine for MIDI background music on GeoCities pages, NetShow streams, and early embedded audio before Flash dominated multimedia on the amateur web.
