Caption
Free-hosting pages with banner ads, table grids, and amateur HTML folk art.
Historical Impact
Tripod offered free personal homepages alongside GeoCities and Angelfire (1996–2001). Builder templates and intrusive top banners framed table-based layouts, MIDI embeds, and guestbook links — the same grassroots publishing aesthetic with a distinct Tripod ad strip across every page.
